ABSTRACT

Objectives: This article explains the intrinsic feature of the cultural content called ‘K-Culture Hallyu(Korean Wave)’ in terms of objective hermeneutics. The research on the spread and success of Hallyu has so far conducted focus on external factors rather than on relatively internal such as Korea's advanced social media platform and economic effects. Methods: Although there are studies to analyze internal factors, they are destroying autonomy of texts by covering with the existing (oriental) philosophical concepts rather than interpreting the cultural contents in immanent text. In this case, the components of pleasure should be added new factor of “Fun” to Kant’s “Satisfaction”. Therefore, the exploration for ‘Aesthetic code of the Hallyu’ is to identify ‘what is the primitive cultural attitude causing satisfaction and fun in the Hallyu?’ Conclusions: It suggests three and two aesthetic codes in the compositional (fun) and emotional (satisfaction) aspects respectively. 1) Segmental probability, 2) Articulation Unity, 3) Inversional Dynamic, 4) Refreshing Healthy, 5) Gentle Humanity. Based on these characteristics, the article not only raises Asian’s pride and self-esteem, but also highlights the value of “authenticity” newly with the possibility of the universal popular culture that can create a synesthesia in people around the world.
