Information for Authors

1. Manuscripts are submitted through online submission page on the journal homepage or email at snuacjournal@snu.ac.kr (Tel: 02-880-2874, Fax: 02-880-2694). In case of submission by email, submission application form and ethical declarations should be submitted along with the manuscript (available to be downloaded from Asia Review homepage).

2. Submissions are received any time before the deadlines, and manuscripts are published in issues that are published the soonest after acceptance.

3. Deadlines for submissions are 75 days before the publication dates (April 30, August 31. December 31), which would be February 15, June 15, and October 15.

4. Submitted manuscript must be an academic paper that has not been published and is not expected to be published.

5. To qualify for authorship, each author should be a master’s program student or have higher academic credentials.

6. Manuscripts must follow the guidelines provided by the editorial board; the language should be Korean in principle, but foreign researchers may submit their manuscripts in English. Manuscripts that do not abide by the principles of submission will not be registered.

7. Korean abstracts should be written in approximately 400 letters, with three to five Korean key words for readers to infer the content of the paper.

8. For globalization of studies, an English abstract should be submitted along with a Korean one. English abstracts should be written in approximately 200 words, with three to five key words.

9. The copyright of published papers belong to SNUAC. Upon sending the final manuscript, authors should sign and attach the copyright transfer agreement, which would mean that they agree to their papers being publicly open on the journal homepage for free.

10. A separate call for papers is open for reviews. Publications to be reviewed are papers or books that can be evaluated as having contributed an opportunity of theoretical/methodological turn and development in specific geographical areas or areas of study in Asian studies. Reviews should include overall introduction of the work as well as critique. Reviews are given the same status as papers and go through the same review process and other procedures as general research papers.

11. If authors wish to submit objections to review results, they may send their objections to the editorial board. In case of an objection, the editorial board holds an editorial conference to examine the validity of the objection. If it is judged to be valid, new reviewers may be appointed for another round of reviews.

12. In any case not hereby specified, the editorial board will provide a decision
