Review Process

○ (Manuscript submission) Manuscript submission must follow the following clauses.

 1. All manuscripts submitted to Asia Review must be academic papers that have not been published and are not expected to be published.

 2. Submitted manuscripts must follow the guidelines provided by the editorial board; the language should be Korean in principle, but foreign researchers may submit their manuscripts in English.

 3. Manuscripts can be submitted any time through the journal homepage or email (snuacjournal@snu.ac.kr). The editorial board notifies authors once their manuscripts are received.

 4. Submitted manuscripts are not returned. The publication of manuscripts is decided upon the review committee.

○ (Eliminated from review) The following papers are eliminated from review.

1. Any paper published in existing journals or proceedings

2. Any paper written with support from profit-making organizations

3. Any paper that diverges from the nature of academic papers

4. Any paper that noticeably violates the guidelines in terms of length, format, and others

○ (Manuscript review) Manuscripts are reviewed through the following process.

 1. The editorial board selects two reviewers based on the suitability of their expertises, and send them the submitted manuscript, letter of request for review, and evaluation form. In case of manuscripts submitted online through the homepage, reviewers provide their opinions through the online system or email. The list of reviewers is not disclosed for fairness of the evaluation.

 2. If there is any concern for damaging the fairness and impartiality of evaluation, reviewers should avoid the review themselves or be excluded.

 3. Reviewers provide evaluation decisions in the following four levels, and specifies the reasons.

① ‘Accepted’: Manuscripts without any particular problem or those that seem acceptable with some minor revisions in copyreading

② ‘Accepted with some revisions required’: Manuscripts with some problems that do not damage the overall assertion of the paper and could be revised without changing the basic framework of the work

③ ‘Resubmitted version to be reviewed’: Manuscripts with serious problems that either cause contradictions in the entire paper or lead to obscurity so that the basic framework of the paper requires extensive revisions; manuscripts with problems that could be fixed and acknowledged as having value to be published once those problems are revised

④ ‘Rejected’: Manuscripts with essential problems that cannot be solved unless completely rewritten

 3. The final judgment for submitted manuscripts are given according to the reviewers’ decision.

① If the reviewers’ decision is ‘Resubmitted version to be reviewed’, authors are requested to revise their manuscripts and respond to the reviewers’opinions. A second round of reviews is requested upon receiving the authors’ revisions and responses.

② If the reviewers’ decision is ‘Accepted with some revisions required’, authors are requested to revise their manuscripts and respond to the reviewers’opinions. The revised manuscripts and responses are examined by the editorial board.

③ If the reviewers’ decision is ‘Rejected’, authors are notified of the result and the review process is closed.
