AB - 清朝时期, 由于统治阶段自身的需要, 制造关羽的神性, 并通过立庙设祀, 把关羽信仰灌输到市民百姓中去。无论从祭祀的规模和仪式, 关庙创建的范围和数量, 以及信仰和崇拜者的广泛而论, 都表明清朝时期人们对关羽的神化和崇拜已达到空前的程度。通过清皇帝的推波助谰, 所赐封号由侯而帝君而大帝, 祭祀规模由群祀而中祀; 关庙创建的范围由窄而广, 数量由少而多; 关羽成为人神之首, 凡助战斗、治病除灾、佑科举、诛伐叛逆, 无所不能, 具有多方面的神格, 其崇拜和信仰者极为广泛。这些都显示了清朝关羽崇拜已达到历史的最高峰。在其深远影响下, 京剧关公戏呈现出情节动人的剧目和名家演技精彩等态势, 成为清代京剧关公戏的一个极为突出的发展。
