AB - 高本汉先生早期认为中古汉语二等字有一个弱的i-介音,但后来他自己推翻了这种看法。从此,学者们大都认为中古二等字没有介音。但中古以后在二等韵的牙音与喉音里,i-介音普遍存在,而且明清时代有的韵图里连齿音与唇音上也带有i-介音。还有现代汉语方言中属于浙西方言的遂昌方言․浦江方言․武义方言里唇音字也带有i-介音。关于官话二等喉音与牙音的i-介音,许多学者认为是受前低主要元音-a的影响而后来产生出来的。但是江韵不带主要元音-a,太原方言․浦江方言里的几个字也不带-a元音,它们也都产生了i-介音。那现代二等字的介音到底是从古代的二等介音发展而来的,还是受后接元音的影响产生出来的?
本篇论文着眼这个问题从上古音开始考察其来源。考察其上古来源的主要依据是二等字跟来母字的关系,通过谐声系统․又读材料,我们认为二等字在上古音中跟来母字有密切关系。可以这样说,上古二等字不是单声母,而是带-r-介音的复声母。关于中古二等字里介音存在与否,学者之间的见解差异很大。有的认为不存在介音,有的认为仍然存在介音。本篇论文以反映近代汉语共同语的≪直图≫等三个韵图与现代方言作为材料,可以知道中古二等字里存在某种介音。
