AB - 王念孫堅持漢字音重於形的治學立場，對許多典籍做了校勘和語意辨釋, 糾正了前人的諸多謬誤，開闢了一條新的途徑。他在<漢書雜志>中提出 「連語」槪念，幷對它加以詮釋，從中可以看出中國書面語的演變趨勢。其成就大約有如下三點。
首先,王念孫通過精讀≪漢書≫，最早確認「連語」的存在，從中找出多達23個「連語」實例，幷對各個用例加以新的解釋，糾正了前人在訓詁上的謬誤。
其次,王念孫提出的「連語」槪念除了包括按雙聲和疊韻等音韻關係形成的雙音節單純詞之外,還包括以兩個字的同義關係爲基礎的雙音節的複合詞。不過，雖然將組成「連語」的兩個字看成同義關係在訓詁學上是有根據的,但是僅僅局限於每個字的字意本身來解釋「連語」，其方法還是有局限性的。也就是說, 他所謂的「連語」幷不完全符合現代聯緜詞的槪念。現代聯緜詞超越兩個字的同義關係，把聯緜詞看成一個單純詞。然而，無論王念孫提出的「連語」的用例是否完全符合現代聯緜詞的槪念,但把「連語」看做顯示中國書面語趨於複音化的指標，似乎沒什麽問題。
最後,中國文章自東漢以後逐漸趨於騈儷化，複音詞和偶句飛躍地增加。王念孫在談≪漢書≫時，另設「連語」之目，幷對其意進行詳査，這適應了中國詞彙和文章發展的歷史演變的實際情况，是很有意義的。尤其是在把≪漢書≫和≪史記≫比較時，就可以更分明地證實中國文章變化的軌迹。因此，「連語」的存在及其活用，是能讓我們更分明地確認≪漢書≫騈偶化的文章特徵的根據之一。
若要進一步證實<漢書雜志>提出的「連語」是否能成爲中國文章的騈麗化的主要指標，還要對≪史記≫和≪漢書≫的篇章做更全面､更具體的比較驗檢工作。
