AB - “Supernumerary” is already recognized by Chinese and foreign literature realm as a title of literary character image, the Supernumerary Series has been developed acme in Russian literature in19th century, the epitomizer is known as Pushkin who was called the “the Sun of Russian Poetry”. His Eugene・Onegin has become a “supernumerary” of the immortal character in world literature. The Chinese literature in 20th century also continued the “supernumerary” mold, especially Lu Xun, he created many of the classic “supernumerary” images, Kung is one of the most typical one. Although in the history of Chinese literature, whether Kung is a “supernumerary” remains in doubts, but if we take a closer look at the numerous studies on image of Kung in contemporary, we will find that Kung has the characteristics that “supernumerary” has. On the base of rational analysis, this paper aims to compare Kung with Onegin from the perspectives of character, the history of the formation, and the practical significance, etc.
