ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between Chinese culture classes in universities with sustainable development goals, or SDGs. In order to achieve its objectives, literature surveys, case studies and expert formative evaluation were conducted. The results are as follows, this study first derived the educational goals and selection principles of educational content necessary for teaching Chinese culture. In addition, the study presented the relationship between SDGs and Chinese culture syllabi. Furthermore, a partial mixed PBL model and a flipped learning method were introduced as a teaching and learning strategy in order to effectively plan 15-week lectures on Chinese culture. PBL performance tasks and Rubric were then developed based on the core activity process. For future research, 15-week lectures should be applied to the field, and their effectiveness should be verified.
