A Study on Advice of Writing of Engineering in College - Focused on Proposal

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to suggest the actual writing methodology for preparing ‘proposal’ in engineering students. For this, the advice was progressed with 3 stages based on the writing advice program, which is operated by Hansung University. First of all, in ‘prior inspection of basic knowledge’ as stage 1, the core sphere of advice in proposal could be established by inspecting basic knowledge on proposal that interviewees have. Also, interviewees’ positive participation in preparing proposal was allowed to be possibly induced. In ‘inspection of composition through advice of contents’ as stage 2, the contents in three teams were compared and analyzed. Thus, the standard of common compositional system was suggested such as the objective of performance in Chapter 1, the overview of results in Chapter 2, the results in Chapter 3, the system and schedule of driving performance in Chapter 4, and references in Chapter 5. In ‘inspection of description through the advice of substance’ as stage 3, the important standard of describing the central substance by making it modified and supplemented centering on 4 items as for a motive of project, which corresponds to the objective of performing project, the value of project, and those that were obtained by project. In this way, a research on the engineering writing advice centering on proposal suggests the standard of forming contents and the important standard for describing substance in order to prepare proposal to the engineering students. This will be able to be an opportunity available for arranging a real writing example as one suggestion of communication education for the engineering students.
