AB - Writer, Choi, In Wook is a writer who died of gastric cancer in 1972 after he was born in 1920. Choi, In Wook started activity as a writer since 1938, and it is deemed that he had done creation activity actively before he died, but what is about his work or life has not been arranged systematically yet. Choi, In Wook wrote serial novels in a newspaper much, and his serial novels in newspaper have been reprinted as long novel or river novel or they have been issued steadily as titles have been changed. From this viewpoint, it can be said that necessity of study on a writer, Choi, In Wook and work is urgent. But, as for the analysis of his work, his works are studied by comparing with the works of other writers or he is classified as a novelist who serialized in newspaper much or only early some pieces of critiques exist. So, in this writing, this researcher handled the work world of Choi In Wook and his lifetime. As only brief chronological record on Choi, In Wook is being arranged, it is necessary to arrange his lifetime. In addition, as literary feature of Choi, In Wook is being revealed more in short novel than popularity and interest-oriented serial novel in a newspaper, this researcher tried to infer thought or consciousness of writer from his short novel. In his work world, characters who live in poor actuality don't compromise with actuality and they live without losing moral attitude. And, judging from the fact that this point is seen in his work commonly, it is deemed that basic consciousness of writer is projected. In addition, his work is showing the tendency that work is inferior in quality due to self-censorship to be caused by anti-Communist principle phase since Korean Civil War, that is, Armistice Agreement, this researcher tried to handle this.
