ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of convergence instruction on improvement of core competencies and creativity of high school students. The study was designed as a single group experimental design, and 110 students from the first grade of S international high school were selected as participants. The pre and post-test before and after the experiment, and the creative personality test and the core competency evaluation (Lee, 2014) were conducted. The subjects' core competencies were assessed using homo-typic tests (A, B) and the experimental period was 5 weeks. Because this study was a single group experimental design, the results of the tests conducted before and after the experiment were used to compare with the corresponding sample t-test. The results of the study showed that the convergence instruction was effective in improving the career and subject core competence of high school students (p<.001) and improving the creative personality (p<.001). The results of this study were as follows. First, it was found that high school students needed high school students to develop their core competencies in the future. Therefore, it was expected that high school students will be able to apply for creative experiential activity time and social related course time for career guidance to find their vision and future design.
