AB - The purpose of this study was to investigate the multi-parallel triple mediation effect of self-determination, self-efficacy, self-future reliance on the relationship between parental attitude and interpersonal relationship competency (relationship, leadership, collaboration) of Adolescents. This study used the National Youth Policy Institute’s ‘A study on measurement of Korean Youth Competency and International Comparison’in 2017 (middle school, 960 of 9th-grade participants). Results obtained from the analyses were as follows. First, leadership was lower than relationship and cooperation. Second, as a result of correlation analysis, parental attitude was more related to self-determination, self-efficacy, and self-future reliance than relationship, leadership, and cooperation. Self-efficacy was most related to relationship (.376), leadership (.462), and collaboration (.408). Third, self-determination, self-efficacy, and self-future reliance completely triple-mediated the relationship between parental attitude and interpersonal competency (relationship, leadership, cooperation). When the three mediating variables were simultaneously input, the direct effect of parental attitude on relationship, leadership, and cooperation was reduced, which was not statistically significant. Finally, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
