ABSTRACT

In the recent relationship between Korea and China, related research and education have been reduced in both China and Korea due to various internal and external problems. Therefore, for the sustainable development of both countries, it is necessary to seek a new direction. The way to present in this article is to propose a plan to explore China’s representative historical and cultural cities, Suzhou [蘇 Province] and Shanghai. Exploration is one of the important comparisons and curriculums in students’ education, and it is a subject that directly experiences and promotes understanding of the culture of the country from the perspective of cultural education. Through Korean students’ exploration of China, they can not only understand Chinese culture, but also understand our appearancefrom a new perspective. Suzhou is a representative historical and cultural landmark of China, and Shanghai is a symbol of China’s modernization. However, in both regions, Suzhou has been the target site of Tokyo since the Joseon Dynasty, and Shanghai has a symbolic meaning where the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in Japanese colonial era is located. For this reason, two regions were selected, and above all, overseas field trips are not just a tourism experience, but an important subject to enhance students’ understanding of region, space, and culture from a cultural education perspective through field trips. In this article, the overall operation situation as an exploration program operated for this purpose, teaching-learning model-complementary points, and future development plans were presented.
