ABSTRACT

This study analyzes the implementation of intercultural communication skills education in the course Korean Language and Culture through Media and Film, designed to enhance global learners’ communicative competence. Focusing on the film Little Forest(2018), which integrates traditional Korean food and modern life themes, the study explores how learners develop intercultural awareness through Deardorff’s(2006) pyramid model. By comparing Korean and their native cultures, students expanded cultural knowledge, deepened mutual understanding, and fostered openness toward diversity. The course demonstrated that film based instruction effectively promotes empathy, reflection, and intercultural competence in Korean language education.
