AB - The true meaning of piety is to be a good son and daughter to one´s parents. Therefor human set much Hyo(孝) on the life from ancient times to present day in the Eastern Society. And we say that filial piety is the source of all virtues. But the way of practice become different in accordance with the social transformation. For example, the problem of injuring for treating of the parent's illness died down pursuant to medical development.
This thesis is written for the purpose of the seeking for solution to enhance in the modern filial piety. I demonstrated the connection details by way of comparative study on the various historical books, 「the Book of Filial Duty[孝經]」 and modern statistical data etc.
The construction of this thesis is as following. ① filial discussing to the problem of maintain one's own body, ② filial discussing to the way of supporting, ③ filial discussing to the succession of family history, ④ filial discussing to the true social life.
Finally, I express my opinion like this : model presenting of our parents and multiplying filial behavior movement for raising modern filial piety. I think that we have to tend our parents with filial piety for our happy life in every day.
