AB - Nowadays in Korea there has widen the gap between parents generation who pass the HYO ethics down to their children and children generation who are handed the HYO down. This gap has widen because the role of parents are reduced as children generations are resonable and individualism. Moreover the breakdown of a family has increased gradually on the back side of the material wealth through the economic growth. It is because family members are in discord with each other and they demand the interests, so the relationships have turned exclusively.
Like this, the HYO has been weakened in modern society. Nevertheless, this study focused that the Korean society emphasis on the value of the HYO constantly.
When an adult child was handed down the HYO unconsciously, it looks like they are two-faced persons or act a falsehood. However, the adult child perceive the value of the HYO and they have a will to pass the HYO down to next generation. In this regard, this study is about a dilemma in a transmission and learning of the HYO in the present age.
