AB - Among various types of traumatic events exposed to social workers, this research examines factors affecting post-traumatic growth of social workers who intervened in client suicidal behaviors. As the factors affecting post-traumatic growth, individual factor, family factor, and organizational factor to examine how these factors affect post-traumatic growth. The data were collected from social workers working in sectors of social welfare institution, mental health, and public social welfare in Busan. Statistical analysis was conducted based on the collected data. First, the social workers demonstrated frequently exposed to suicide related trauma risks and level of post-traumatic growth was lower than that of previous studies. Second, as a result of conducting a regression analysis of three sectors on social workers, ego-resiliency and supervision had a significantly positive impact on post-traumatic growth. Third, as a result of conducting a regression analysis between the social workers sectors, ego-resiliency had a significantly positive impact on post-traumatic growth in all three sectors. In terms of family cohesion, it had a significantly positive impact only in the mental health sector. Supervision had a significantly positive impact in the social welfare institution and public social welfare sections. Based on findings, we discussed the direction of intervention and practical implications for improving post-traumatic growth of social workers.
