ABSTRACT

In the 21st century online mourning has spread worldwide and is viewed as a new way for the younger generations to participate in society. In this research, we examine preceding variables of intention to mourn online using the theory of planned behavior. In doing so, we also examine the moderating role of individuals’ political propensity. Results from a survey administered to college SNS users show that political propensity interacted with attitude and subjective norms in influencing intention. Results also show that the way political propensity interacts with attitude is opposite from the way it interfaces with subjective norms.
