AB - This paper explores the feasibility of the basic income system, requiring a new welfare system in the change of the labor market. First, the paper examines the structural change of the labor market and the emergence of the new labor class in Korea. Then, the paper points out the limits of the existing welfare system and estimates budgets of each basic income model with the updated data of 2018. Lastly, this exploratory analysis suggests political implications in order to be set for an alternative income security system.
