ABSTRACT

Many scholars have suggested that Quality Management can promote competitive competence. However, the question remains as to weather a relationship exists between QM and competitive capability. This study has two main goals; (1) to determine the relationships between QM, competitive capability and performance; (2) to determine if competitive capability fosters performance and play mediating role between QM and performance. Using a self-administered survey to sample Chinese logistic companies, this study examines four hypotheses and tests the proposed model. The findings of this study are as follows: (1) The leadership of CEO has a strong influence on the Quality Management Activities; (2) Quality Management Activities have a strong impact on the competitive capability of enterprises’ performance. However, the competition capability of enterprises in the process is performing a full role in mediating between quality management activities and performance.
