ABSTRACT

The greatest competitive edge in the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the era of technological revolution, is the convergence ability based on networking of various academic fields. Convergence competency can be reinforced by sharing interdisciplinary knowledge. For example, a humanities major can share knowledge in different fields of study with a major in natural sciences and vice versa. Time and technology are changing too fast to perceive all areas alone without sharing knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to create an environment in which different kinds of knowledge can be shared in the sector of college education. So how do you share knowledge? In this paper, we propose a framework of knowledge sharing program in universities by conducting ‘a science slam’ and ‘a learner-centered teaching method’, which are the representative knowledge sharing programs in Germany, for university students. Under the slogan ‘Everybody is a teacher, everybody is a learner’, we introduce the examples of learners of various fields sharing knowledge with their counterparts in other academic disciplines. Such an attempt could be the foundation of knowledge sharing in the new era.
