ABSTRACT

Greetings are a long-term social agreement, which exists in the language of any nation. This study takes the greetings when meeting and breaking up in Korean and Chinese daily greetings as the object, grasps their expression contents and ways, and then analyzes the cultural factors contained in these greetings. As countries in the same Confucian cultural circle, South Korea and China have many common elements in greetings. Show concern by asking about the behavior or current situation of the other party you know when you meet, and show respect or admiration to the other party you meet for the first time, so as to establish an intimate relationship. In addition, when breaking up, you can show concern, express your behavior and express your mind by instructing the other party. However, greetings, as a cultural factor rooted in language life very early, each language has its own unique things. The most representative is the Korean greeting to eat together. Compared with Chinese, the empty talk character of expressing the mood of deepening the relationship through diet is stronger. In addition, Chinese only uses address forms as greetings, but Korean is not.
