ABSTRACT

Both Korea and China use Chinese character names, which are not only codes used to distinguish individuals, but also have a wealth of socio-cultural information from Korea and China. In this paper, the Chinese characters names of Koreans and Chinese can be statistically investigated, and the naming culture can be compared to understand the differences between the naming cultures of Korea and China, and it can be helpful for communication and understanding between other cultures. This thesis is divided into four chapters. The second chapter makes use of Chinese and Korean surnames as research objects, and makes a quantitative comparative analysis according to syllable and the number and proportion of users. The third chapter lists the Chinese and Korean names according to their cultural implications in corresponding tables, and comparatively analyzes the names of the two countries. The fifth chapter is the conclusion, summarizing the results of the naming cultural comparison between China and Korea the two countries and the significance of this study.
