ABSTRACT

In the field of healthcare, artificial intelligence (AI) is being increasingly utilized in various capacities, with a projected further increase in its utilization in the future. However, ethical concerns raised in the realm of AI ethics may resurface in the context of AI deployment within healthcare. These concerns have the potential to adversely impact the safeguarding of patient autonomy, a principle highly valued in the medical domain. This paper examines the ethical issues that may arise from the use of AI in healthcare and elucidates their implications on patient autonomy, particularly within the framework of shared decision making and the prerequisite of informed consent.
