ABSTRACT

The proliferation of smartphone technology and short form content platforms has increased the participation of nonexperts in video creation, drawing growing interest in the user experience (UX) of AI based video editing tools. In particular, apps equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) features such as automatic subtitling, cut recommendations, and background removal enhance production efficiency while also fostering emotional immersion and a stronger sense of creative agency. This study applies an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and employs structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the relationships among user perception factors, based on survey data from 216 users of CapCut and VLLO. The results indicate that perceived playfulness significantly influences user attitudes and behavioral intentions, while perceived technical adequacy positively affects perceptions of usefulness, playfulness, and ease of use. These findings underscore that beyond functional value, emotional involvement and self expression play a critical role in the adoption of AI editing tools. The study offers practical implications for user centered UX design, onboarding strategies, and the development of emotionally engaging features.
