ABSTRACT

This study examined the effects of parenting attitude on career preparation competency among multicultural adolescents and tested the serial multiple mediation of emotional problems and bicultural acceptance attitude. Using data from the 5th wave of the 2nd Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (2023), 1,448 adolescents were analyzed. Regression and serial multiple mediation analysis were conducted using SPSS 26.0 and PROCESS Macro (Model 6). Parenting attitude had a significant positive effect on career preparation competency, while emotional problems had a negative and bicultural acceptance a positive effect. Notably, the serial mediation path through emotional problems and bicultural acceptance attitude was significant. These findings highlight the importance of supportive parenting that promotes emotional stability and cultural integration in the career development of multicultural adolescents.
