ABSTRACT

With the development of digital technology, the modes of artistic presentation and audience experience have undergone significant transformation, and digital media art exhibitions have provided audiences with increasingly rich artistic experiences. Based on the perspective of embodied cognition and the Double Diamond Model, this study proposes a design framework for immersive digital media art exhibitions. The framework consists of four key elements—Theme, Space-time, Interactivity, and Technology—aiming to provide audiences with a comprehensive and integrated immersive experience while offering stakeholders a flexible process for exhibition generation. Furthermore, through case studies, literature review, and user research, this study develops a five-dimensional experiential framework for immersive digital media art exhibitions, including: Systems Immersion, Spatial Immersion, Social/Empathic Immersion, Narrative/Sequential Immersion, and Bodily Immersion. This experiential framework enables curators and exhibition providers to collect and optimize audience experience data through statistical methods, thereby enhancing the quality of audience experience and supporting the delivery of high-quality digital media art exhibitions.
