ABSTRACT

Economy of Communion(EoC), can be traced back to the Monastery Movement which is the root of market economy. EoC has a lot in common with civile economy philosophy of Antonio Genovesi who viewed the market as the place of reciprocity that can exist only when civile virtue is presupposed. Corporate profit for the poor and promotion of culture, realization of ‘culture of giving’ and reciprocity in business management, gift and gratuity. These are goal of EoC and ultimately EoC aspire to plant trust in humanity and virtue in market economy. This essay tries to explain the meaning of EoC to modern market economy, its competitor, by understanding its concept and philosophical background of EoC.
