ABSTRACT

This study aims to examine the impact of digital literacy and technology acceptance on satisfaction with generative AI. Based on a survey conducted with 222 college students majoring in engineering and humanities/social sciences, a multiple regression analysis revealed that technology acceptance positively influences generative AI satisfaction, while digital literacy does not have an effect. Furthermore, engineering students scored higher than humanities/social sciences students in digital literacy, technology acceptance, and generative AI satisfaction. Engineering students showed increased satisfaction as their software proficiency and perceived usefulness improved, while humanities/social sciences students reported higher satisfaction when they perceived ease of use and usefulness. Based on these findings, the educational implications for the use of generative AI were discussed.
