ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was performed to examine the effects of gratitude diary writing on gratitude disposition and anger expression modes among Christian university students. The verification measures used for this study was Cronbach’s α, and the reliability and validity of the validation scale were proved to be relatively high. The Primary data were analyzed through a statistical package program PASW( SPSS WIN 21.0). In order to verify the average, and t-test, ANCOVA(analysis of covariance) were applied, statistical significant level was set at 95%. This study confirm the results as follows. First, as a result of homogeneity test between the experimental group and the control group of gratitude disposition and anger expression modes(anger-in, anger-control, anger-out) are such that do not show significant difference statistically in scores. Second, as a result of analysis of the pre- and post- test differences between the control group and the experimental group, the average scores of gratitude disposition pre(M=17.25)-post(M=21.53) and anger expression modes pre(anger-in M=13.47,anger-control M=23.12, anger-out M=14.65)-post((anger-in M=10.28, anger-control M=29.07, anger-out M=13.46) of the experimental group of gratitude diary writing are proved to be relatively higher than the average of pre-post of the control group. While a significant level of control group are meaningless, a significant level of gratitude disposition p<.01 and anger expression modes(anger-in p<.05, anger-control p<.01) showed statistically significant in the experimental group. In the above results, gratitude diary writing has been proven to be effective of the Christian university students' gratitude disposition and anger expression modes.
