AB - The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of biblical counseling as perceived by the counselee. To achieve this, previously published studies were reviewed in two major sections. The first section is; what are common factors in counseling performance? The second section is; what are the counselees perceived as counseling outcomes? Then the case of a counselee who experienced joining various counseling as well as biblical counseling was analyzed qualitatively. Analysis of depth interview shows that the counselee perceived four effect factors, which are diagnosis and prescription from a biblical perspective, explanatory instruction, personal relationship, and daily practice in life. Each of these four factors corresponds to the following common factors, exploring the internal reference frame, providing explanations, recognizing the counselor's expertise, and acquiring new behaviors. This result proves that the sufficiency of the Bible, which provides explanations, recommendations, and applications for counseling, acts in case conceptualization, counseling methods, and counseling relationships in actual counseling and produces counseling effects. This study provided practical information on the effective counseling intervention for biblical counseling. Additionally, this paper contributed to providing a basis for objectively explaining the counseling effects of biblical counseling. But there is a limit to generalizing the results of this single case study.
