ABSTRACT

Information communication technology has attracted attentions since it has been closely connected to the innovation of economy and society and played a major role in fusion technology. The United States, the IT powerhouse, endeavor to maintain the current advantageous position, granting significant amount of research funds. American information communication policy is largely led by the federal government and the NITRD program actively engages industries, universities, research institutions and governments for the development of collaborative network. This study explains the NITRD program and current trends of information technology advancement policy in the US and indicates implications on Korean information technology policy. The results of this study consists of three components. The first result is that the US government launched a systematic approach to respond to an informatization age. The second result suggests organic interdeparmental collaboration system driven by government-wide agency. The final results is concerned with problem solving ability for customers.
