ABSTRACT

This research analyzes the effects on employment of the geographic agglomeration of the animal breeding companies, focusing on the case of the Seed Valley, and surveying the animal breeding companies. The research reveals that the Seed Valley contributes significantly to the employment. First, this project is expected to contribute to the creation of jobs since the companies that are willing to move to the Seed Valley would make more investment compared to the case of a simple relocation of facilities. Second, because the seed valley project will continue until after 2026, the hiring of construction workers is expected to increase. The companies moving to the Seed Valley are expected to hire 6.9 full time employees and 72.4 temporary or daily workers for this purpose. Third, 4.06 new employees are expected to be hired on average in the first year after moving to the Seed Valley. In the second year, 3.31 new employees and in the third year, 4.14 new employees are expected to be hired. This research implies that the policy makers should take a strategic approach so that the formation of the Seed Valley becomes job-generating project.
