AB - The purpose of this paper is to explore the priority of the Education Support Programs for the Multi-cultural Families which local educational authorities implement to address the educational inequality of multi-cultural students. The research conducted the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) survey among the elementary school teachers in Gyeongbuk Province and interviewed them to obtain more detailed information. We found that parents prioritize the parents' capacity-building and acclimatization of multi-cultural students through basic academic skills among others. The most important programs are practical and effective for the address of educational inequality. We recommend the long-term multi-cultural Education Support Programs relevant to the field of multi-cultural students education and the development of new programs reflects the needs of multi-cultural students. We also suggest to link education support to multi-cultural students and education-welfare programs, and promote parent-child linked programs, diversification of education methods, and teacher training programs.
