ABSTRACT

The Purpose of this study is to examine the factors that affect the housing cost burden among the low income tenant households in Korea. This study analyzes the housing cost burden(RIR: Rent to Income Ratio) of low income tenant households and determinants of their housing cost burden using the ‘2014 Korea Housing Survey Data’. The results are as follows. RIR of Chonsei rental household are affected by gender and age of householder, household members with disabilities, assets, the number of household, housing type, region. The RIR of monthly rental household are differed from age and education of household, recipient of national basic livelihood guarantees, recipient of housing benefit, assets, the number of household, house size, length of residence, region, public rental housing. Thus, this study proposes housing policy for low income rental households implication on the results.
