AB - This study was conducted to evaluate the hype score of Korean and foreign newspaper articles on human embryo editing by CRISPR-Cas9. Through the T-test, it was found that articles of the domestic newspapers were more significantly hyped than those of the foreign newspapers (p <0.001). The reasons for the different reporting attitudes are estimated in terms of the press releases of the Ministry of Science and ICT, the researchers' paper on human embryo editing, and science reporting practice of media. Finally, the way to avoid hype through responsible human embryo editing was sought.
