ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze user perceptions through a survey on the actual status, preference, and importance of high school students’ use of school library spaces in C-city, and then to suggest a direction for efficiently constructing school library spaces necessary for future education. Seven high schools, which are evaluated as having excellent space composition and staffed by the school library. Based on the results of the survey on users’ perceptions of the school library’s use and the direction of space composition, the government first selected 1) locations that are easy for students to access, 2) securing high-quality materials and equipment to support curriculum and learning when constructing materials, reading spaces, and teaching and learning spaces, 3) fully considering the role of the school library and the needs of users when constructing and deploying spaces, and 4) making efforts to construct spaces that reflect technological skills and equipment based on the impact of future environments and new technologies.
