ABSTRACT

This study has validated the relationship between the field practical training experience and its influence on the career decisions of the Korean female community college students majoring in library and information science. As a result of the study performed, the trainee factors for the field practical training were major related satisfaction (β=.313, 𝑝<.01), advance preparation for practical training (β=.235, 𝑝<.01), and attitude towards the practical training (β=.195, 𝑝<. 05) turned out to be the factors which have had a statistically positive (+) effect on the career decisions of the Korean female community college students majoring in library and information science. Furthermore, among the field training institution factors, the training content (β=.268, 𝑝<.05) factor, and among the field training school factors, the training professor (β=.185, 𝑝<.01) factor were confirmed to have a significant impact on the career decisions of the Korean female college students majoring in library and information science. This study could be used as the useful basic data for the career planning and job placement guidance for the Korean female community college students majoring in library and information science.
