AB - This paper proposes and evaluates a bug-fixing methodology using a structure-aware multi-agent approach for DirectX-based MMORPG legacy systems. This paper addresses the limitations of generative AI-based vibe coding, where immediately instructing AI to fix bugs often leads to localized fixes that conflict with the overall project structure. These issues are especially prominent in MMORPG environments, where module dependencies, call chains, and sprite-based frame/motion processing are closely interconnected. To evaluate performance, we compared a single-agent direct instruction baseline with our proposed multi-agent approach based on prior structural understanding. Using the same codebase and tasks, we measured bug resolution success rate, additional bug occurrence rate, requirement alignment, revision iterations, and structural interpretation accuracy. The results showed that analyzing the system structure and call chains before implementation significantly improved resolution rates and requirement alignment while drastically reducing additional errors and revision iterations. In conclusion, utilizing a structure-aware multi-agent system provides a highly effective and stable bug-fixing process in large-scale legacy game projects, outperforming immediate implementation-focused prompts.
