ABSTRACT

This study empirically explored the structure and key characteristics of social discourse on serious accidents in social welfare facilities as reflected in social media, given that serious accidents have recently emerged as a major issue in the social welfare sector. Data were collected from Naver, Daum, and Google using TEXTOM, a big data analysis system. A total of 321 documents published between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2025, were analyzed. The findings are as follows. The word frequency analysis identified social welfare facilities, Serious Accidents Punishment Act, education, response, serious accidents, safety, manuals, and prevention as major keywords. The TF-IDF analysis revealed that education, response, manuals, risk assessment, and workers had high TF-IDF values. The N-gram analysis identified co-occurrence relationships among social welfare facilities and Serious Accidents Punishment Act, Serious Accidents Punishment Act and response, response and manuals, serious accidents and prevention, and safety and health management system and establishment. The CONCOR cluster analysis identified six clusters. Based on these findings, this study recommends fostering a safety culture focused on serious accident prevention and establishing and implementing a sustainable safety and health management system.
