AB - With the recent rapid progress of the 4th industrial revolution, the wave of change in the means of transportation is also very strong. In the past, automobiles and motorcycles have been regarded as representative means of transportation, except mainly for short distances. Recently, however, personal mobility such as electric bicycles and electric kickboards have begun to emerge. In addition, if such personal mobility was used primarily in the form of personal ownership in the early days, the culture of using mobility is gradually changing, such as the emergence of many companies that rent these products in recent years.
As the existing ownership-type usage culture of mobility gradually changes to a sharing-type usage culture, a platform is being systematized to reach destinations using various means of transportation. When MaaS(Mobility as a Service), an integrated transportation system, is introduced, the paradigm for transportation will change significantly, and the insurance operating system will also undergo many changes. Accordingly, an era in which various means of transportation will be used through a single platform, such as autonomous vehicles, UAM(Urban Air Mobility), and electric kickboards, is expected to arrive sooner or later.
Therefore, in preparation for this era of vitalization of mobility, we will examine the background and types of various types of mobility, and examine in detail the legal responsibility and alternatives in case of an accident during the movement of mobility.
