ABSTRACT

According to the "Act on School Violence Prevention and Countermeasures," the national and local governments have established the necessary legal and institutional mechanisms such as investigations and research, and have been designed to protect student victims, encourage student perpetrators to take the lead in their educational activities, Proposals from youth-related organizations are reflected in related measures. In addition, the Minister of Education is required to reduce and reduce the basic plan regarding the investigation, research, education, genealogy, and support for students, such as treatment and rehabilitation, to investigate the intensity of school violence. By law, the Minister of Education establishes and implements the ``Basic Plan for School Violence Prevention and Countermeasures'' every five years, and the ``4th Basic Plan for School Violence Prevention and Countermeasures'' ('20-'24) is currently in effect. The 4th Basic Plan implements five major policy areas: prevention of school violence, strengthening of responses, protection of student victims, strengthening of education of perpetrators of student violence, and establishment of a society-wide school violence prevention and response ecosystem. However, despite the efforts of relevant authorities, school violence is on the rise. Therefore, we recommend focusing on school violence prevention and establishing institutional devices that can detect and prevent school violence in advance. Institutional devices expand communication and interviews between students and teachers.
