ABSTRACT

This study applied empirical approach in order to restore mould material for metal type wax casting method, which has not been investigated until now. (1) Matrix Material: wax, pine resin-added wax and paraffin were used. (2) Mould Material: any sticky clay was acceptable as main material. Charcoal powder was useful as subsidiary material and its mixing portion was 10 percent.(3) Component, Quantity, and Method of Alloy: it was possible to make an alloy of copper with 55 through 70 percent. The amount of metal poured was a very small quantity of around 200 grams, and conventional pouring method was also applicable.(4) Number of Character Strokes: it was not specifically related to the success of casting method.(5) Success and Contraction Rate of Casting: the success rate of casting was 1.24%, and its contraction rate was 95.07%.
