ABSTRACT

This paper aims to investigate the perceptions and preferences of Korean Language teachers about Korean Grammar terms in English through questionnaire in order to establish the Standard Korean Education Grammar for KFL. First a detailed analysis is conducted on Korean Language teachers' needs for selection of Grammar terms and their English counterparts. They selected the terms related with the part of speech like verb and noun etc, and with the tense including present tense and past tense. Second, according to the result of this questionnaire Korean Langauge teachers hardly use Korean Grammar terms and moreover avoid using Korean Grammar terms. On the contrary, Korean Learners regard using Grammar terms as positive and effective Korean learning method. Korean leaners have the tendency for benefit using Korean Grammar terms in classroom. Third, Korean Language teachers tend to have the opinion that Korean Language Education Grammar is different from the School Grammar.
