ABSTRACT

Since 1950s, the french government carried out a policy of deindustrialization that signified the relocation of industry out of Paris and it’s suburb. A various measures has taken place in order to regulate creation of industrial space or to incite demolition. Because of this policy, the Parisian region lost it’s factory at first, but with variety from region to region. In the department of Seine- Saint-Denis, the most industrialized commune was affected very early and more deeply than neighboring commune by the deindustrialization, and unemployment has risen greatly. On the other hand, the industrial transfer was done without relocation of group headquarters. The corporate headquarter remained in Paris that became a center of headquarters, finance and commerce.
