The effects of Social Dance and Estrogen Treatment on the Bone Density and Blood Osteocalcin Concentration of Postmenopausal Women

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dance and estrogen treatment on bone density and blood osteocalcin concentration of postmenopausal women. Subjects for study were 21 postmenopausal women who were divided into 3 groups(control, dance, and dance+estrogen). For 12week, social dance intensity has during 50min and estrogen treatment. In the bone density of FN(femur neck) was significantly difference among groups(p<.05). Blood osteocalcin concentration was significantly difference among groups(p<.05). In conclusion, this study that continuous regular 12 week social dance and estrogen treatment may be beneficial to bone density of postmenopausal women
