The Bauhaus Curriculum Based on the Creative Convergence Education - Focusing on Oskar Schlemmer’s Education in Performing Arts -

ABSTRACT

This study aims to understand how Oskar Schlemmer’s convergence education has been expanded to performing arts, based on the curriculum of ‘Bauhaus(1919-1933)’ which is an arts educational institute of Germany. Oskar Schlemmer(1888-1943), a professor of Bauhaus performed collaborations between genres based on the curriculum exploring and experimentingc diverse materials, which was led to collaborations with other professors and artists in Bauhaus having influence by various arts. He continuously researches and works on ‘Human’ and ‘Space’, if we look in to his production on performing arts among his diverse works of arts, we can see the expansion of Schlemmer’s convergence education through performing arts. It is the time that emphasizing the education for training creative convergent talent and the combination of technology and arts it would be urgently needed to have a new convergence curriculum for performing arts in order to creative education led to performing arts and cultivate unique piece of performance arts.
