AB - The purpose of this study was shape of dance movement based on Oriental philosophy by developing the dance Movement, while applying the structure of Sang(象) and the characteristics of Seong(性) of Eight Trigrams(八卦) of Classic of Changes(I Ching). To visualize it as dance movement, this study focused on the characteristics of Sang(象) and Seong(性) of Eight Trigrams, and fifteen dance movements were developed by applying the function of Yin-Yang and the characteristics of symbolic image and energy immanent in Eight Trigrams. Searching for the correlation between the theory of Oriental philosophy and the development of dance movement, this study has implications in that it built dance movements with the prototypicality of Oriental thoughts and the universality of present times and studied the methodology to expand the field of dance.
