ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to explore the goals and characteristics of Somatic Dance Education based on Holism, and to develop a conceptual model of Holistic Somatic Dance Education. The conceptual model of Holistic Somatic Dance education is developed that connects Awareness, Sensibility, Experience, and Spirituality education through Somatic Embodiment Process of Soma, which is at the core of Corporality, Temporality, Spaciality, and Relationship derived from the characteristics of Holistic Somatic Dance education. In conclusion, Holistic Somatic Dance education enables learners to produce individual knowledge through soma connected with the body, mind, and spirit, and is a participation-oriented education as an integrated arts education centered on body expression. In addition, learners communicate with the surroundings through the Holistic Somatic Dance education, expand the embodied experience in nature and environment, and further connect with their inner world.
