ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to observe the recent dance phenomenon by examining the background, characteristics, and spread factors that influenced random play dance. To summarize the results, the influencing factors on the formation of random play dance were, first, the of MTV, which spurred the era of viewing music. Second, the branding strategy through system operation. Third, the training system of agencies. Fourth, acceptance by fandom. Fifth, the growth of short-form content. The characteristics of Random Play Dance are, first, that it operates on a horizontal identification psychology. Second, it follows rules to create a sense of solidarity. Third, it is based on voluntary participation. Fourth, it plays an active role by posting edited videos on social media. The spread of random play dance is facilitated by the ease of dancing and the convenience of joining the stage. Repeatedly experiencing K-pop dance covers in everyday settings, combined with social media short-form challenges, has become a fun play culture.
